BACK AGAIN!

Hello all...I am back. It's been a while, not only since my last blog, but also since I was training. To recap, in early June when I last posted, I was not feeling that great. At the time I thought I was on the rebound. Unfortunately, I continued to spiral downward for most of June. About the time I started to feel better we loaded up the family and headed back to Canada for the summer. On July 1st I watched Jaz complete her first 1/2 Ironman...The Great White North just outside of Edmonton. For the rest of July I was on parenting detail as Jaz was taking a course. This did not leave a lot of time for getting back in to training. August was busy travelling the country catching up with people we hadn't seen in a year and probably wouldn't for the next year, so again, not a great time to start trainging again atlthough I was able to squeeze in a few runs. In late August we again packed up the Little Brawn and headed back to Cairo.
Since arriving back in Cairo there have been many changes to get used to...new job...new community...new apartment...new responsibilities...and new friends. It has been hectic, but I have been able to dust off the bike and pull the running shoes out of the closet and so begins the quest.
This years quest...Ironman Switzerland!! Yes it's official, the deal has been made and negotiations are finished. Jaz is 100% supportive, the training plan has been laid out. I have a partner to do it with and two other commrades that are going to help with some training. The official sign up date for me will be October 18th (next payday). All that is left now is 9 months of some serious training!

It's good to be back, it's a relief to be back on the road and now it's time to start churning out some miles. I will update you on my plan in the days to come. I will also fill you in on the developments of the little Brawn over the last few months as her first birthday has come and gone.

Cheers for now
